This section is a narrative of our character's struggle to find a cure to the plague that his mind has become after visiting Mother Superior in the first act. After tiresome tries to tie a connection with the outside world, a lack of power and therefore, a need for a better perspective is imperative.

The album follows the character as he tries to find shelter in the shades of gray and learns to adapt to any means necessary to get rid of any short-term turmoils. While the real world seems more and more distant, he sees himself as the strongest force in his universe. "Overall, it is very hard for me to describe just how I feel about Marc Broude’s “Medicine”. Though I do listen to a lot of experimental music, this album has taken me to a new dimension that I just can’t fully comprehend. The dark and disturbing atmospheres are magnificent, and every element on this album works to create a very gloomy and depressing mood, whether it be the jazz guitars, the haunting singing bowls, or even the harmonicas or accordions in the end track. The album is also very well produced, and at times, the songs do have a great arrangement to them. However, on other occasions, the songs break linear fashion, in that where there is usually a climax or a build-up, it is very hard to distinguish here. Drums can enter, but they never build to anywhere except to cut off abruptly, as well as atmospheres can continue on for very long periods of time, with very slow and rarely evolving textures occurring throughout. Does it sound like a mixture of Lustmord and Scorn? Yes. Is it a very minimal and industrial album? Indeed, yes. Has Marc Broude successfully created an eccentric mix of avant-garde jazz and dark ambient soundscapes? That will be up to you to decide, but in my opinion, he’s come pretty darn close. In fact, much closer than any other musician has. If you are a fan of Lustmord, Lull, Scorn, dark ambient, avant-garde jazz, or just flat-out strange music in general, this will most likely appeal to you. However, please note that this album is not for everyone, nor is it necessarily for the faint of heart at times as well. Would I recommend it? Most definitely. 8 out of 10 stars.." - Ian Felpel

I bought this cassette in the mid eighties. It was for sale via the Coil mailing list, back in the day when things existed, a time when there were real tangible objects.

In between side one and two of ‘Gogmagog’ I have placed some of my field recordings. I made the flute recordings by a street musician on a very cheap cassette recorder. They were recorded in Kathmandu in the very early 90’s.

Following this is a cassette recording that was given to me in Siwa, Egypt. Unfortunately I have no idea who the artists are playing on this.

After this I have placed another field recording I made in Kathmandu, this time of a street musician singing and playing a small bowed instrument much like a violin.

After the first album, Radio for the Daydreamers have worked on defining their sound much more and have tried to create a balance of different elements(/genres/styles/whathaveyou) of music. We have collaborated with some amazing artists recently, and have thence created "Praying for the be(a)st", a tryptich following a creative non-fiction story of a faustian character. Our intentions with this album, were to take elements from avant garde jazz, classical music, black metal and electronic music and create an amalgamation.

"Mother Superior and Her Fields of Migraine" is the first installment of the Praying for the be(a)st tryptich. This section tells the story of our character indulging in misery, self-realization, seclusion, developing phobias, anxieties and a need to break out to help his own mind. Accepting negativities, even though it is clear that the consequences of those negativities would be grim. To accept evil just to get some purpose. This section of the story takes place in a single room. We hope the music is picturesque enough for you to immerse yourselves into this story.

Fescal’s recent wayward plunge into the dominion of dark experimental music demonstrates that not only is he a deft of beatless dark ambient drones but of melodic dark electron-organic music as well.
The title track “Ginger Baker” is a noisy venture into an opaque world of undulating drones thundering above subtle textures of electronics and samples.
The aptly named “Vulgar and Kitsch” follows with the catchy babble of strong synth and keyboard samples along with heavy crackles and glitches.
With “Bomdila Monastery” the emphasis is on an assortment of repetitive percussive sounds and looping brazen sonorities.
Fifth “Pork Pie and Beans” is a cold, mellow composition with a beautifully simple minor-keyed melody, sad synths, programmed and brisk, ominous electronics flittering about in the background.
What sounds like sound samples played in reverse set above layers of rolling percussion give “Shrimp Cake” a surreal atmosphere!
“Evening Butterflies” is a playful, abstract collage of thick drones, curious electronics, and static noise.

And so the bin was searched carefully, parts were scrubbed, put in a new home, chopped, treated, refined, remodelled and combined until 7 tracks came out.
The artist is Joanne Gabriel, the sounds are recycled by KraftiM. The titles are derived from the original tracknames and should be pronounced in french...

Ah...2004. A year of waves, babes, and heavily-armed enclaves. And in this turbulent time same a saviour: the first album by the now-legendary A Screaming Comes Across the Sky. What started as a true crusade, to destroy the infidels of bland indie pop (or possibly as a joke to spite a co-worker) blossomed, like the proverbial fungus, scattering its spores o'er the landscape of music until it would be damn hard to get out without going to the doctor. It woos you to know, dear reader, that at the end of the record is a recoding of the first-ever performance of the band, when at the time I was joined by two quite attractive women, at least far more so than Mr. Benjamin, not that he didn't have that little sumthin-sumthin himself, usually after the fifth scotch. At the end of the title track, I hurt myself by drinking some scalding soup. It's a scary world!

this track was based on a field recording i made of my last day of work before my “fall break” at CSUF (a one-week non paid work furlough). a few days later i improvised over the recording of my commute (from highland park to union station) with some materials of an earlier piece i made last spring (not getting fired is the new promotion). when it was finished i felt it was a little too minimal and forgot about it until about a week ago and when i listened to it again i realized it pretty accurately captured my dread of what this financial disaster has become in my life.
interestingly enough on that was the same day on my commute home the conductor on my amtrak route told me that she had lost about 75 daily commuters between san diego and los angeles from a year ago and it was pretty sad how so few of us were left. i know for me there aren’t many part time faculty left in the music department at CSUF and at this point it’s can get pretty depressing whenever i think about all of my friends who are out of work.
probably a little TMI, but yeah… i guess it is a bit dark.

BS002 KraftiM - Voiedge

Voiedge (a trip to the edges of the void?) with collected works from KraftiM made in 2007/2008. These tracks haven`t been released on Musictrade, On 3 tracks rhythmpatterns of dutch artist Justbase were used. Most tracks have a darkish doomy feel, but never without a sprinkling touch of hope. Haumter and Chursed are based on live cathedral recordings (the Zoom H4 makes wonders) but adapted on KraftiM's VST's. On Bearice you can hear one of the last Polar Bears begging for seals, Fratatag and Drong both contain monastery fieldrecordings.
